Fatal Collision South of Moab: One Killed, Three Injured
Tragic Accident on US Route 191
On Tuesday, February 7, 2024, a devastating head-on collision occurred south of Moab, Utah, on US Route 191. The impact claimed the lives of two drivers, while a teenage passenger sustained critical injuries.
According to the Grand County Sheriff's Office, around 8 pm, a northbound Chevrolet Equinox crossed the center line and collided directly with a southbound Toyota. The identities of the deceased victims have been released: Thomas 61 and Stephanie Hinkley.
Two other individuals in the Toyota, a woman and a teenage girl, suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. The teenager remains in critical condition.
Ongoing Investigation
The Grand County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the cause of the crash. Officers are examining all factors that may have contributed to the incident.
